Leader Of BC Marijuana Party Arrested!
Marc Emery, Leader of the BC Marijuana Party, owner of Cannabis Culture Magazine, and marijuana seeds retailer website EmerySeeds.ca, was arrested by the US Drug Enforcement Agency on July 29th 2005 WHILE ON CANADIAN SOIL. Also arrested were BCMP Vice-President Michelle Rainey and activist Greg Williams. The DEA also raided several offices in conjuction with these arrests including the BC Marijuana Party's head office & Marc Emery's bookstore.
Since when do we allow US government officials say over what Canadians do? Canada is on the brink of decriminalization of marijuana, and yet the Vancouver Police assited in the arrest of these canadian citizens. Ontop of the arrest, and what makes things even worse, the US Department Of Justice doesnt even HAVE a valid extradition order, they have only filled a request for one, and yet these Canadian Citizens were still arrest and detained. In the case of Marc Emery himself, the US Governement requested that he be held WITHOUT bail!? Fortunately, a B.C Judge denied the US's request and released Mr. Emery on $50,000 CAD Bail.
